Mummy Tart
Make dessert a little spookier with this cherry mummy tart!
Ingredients
- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. Firebee Vanilla Honey
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 oz. (1/2 block) cream cheese
- 4 oz. butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 c. cold water
- cherry pie filling
- candy eyeballs
Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour, Firebee Vanilla Honey, salt, and cream cheese together using your hands. Add in the butter and continue squishing to combine. .
Step 2
Next, add the cold water all at once and continue mixing until a dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
Step 3
When you are ready to assemble the tart, Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a rectangular tart pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 4
Split off about 1/3 of the dough to save for the mummy strips. Take the remaining dough and roll it out so that it will cover the tart pan. Drape it over the tart pan and push it down.
Step 5
Cut off any excess dough and add it to the remaining 1/3. Roll that portion out thin and cut it into strips. A pizza cutter works great for this. (It doesn't matter if the strips are even, but you want them to be pretty thin)
Step 6
Add the cherry pie filling to the tart pan and then cover with the strips of dough, criss crossing as desired. Bake for 25-30 minutes and then allow to cool. Top with candy eyeballs and serve!
