Fried Goat Cheese with Elderberry Honey

Ingredients
(~24 cheese balls)
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2/3 cup panko bread crumb
- 1 large egg
- 11 oz goat cheese
- 2 cups olive oil
- 2 tbs water
- 1 tbs fresh chives, minced
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 tbs Firebee Elderberry Honey
Step 1
Combine flour and black pepper in a small bowl.
Step 2
In a second bowl, whisk together egg, 1/4 tsp salt, and water.Step 3
Combine panko and remaining 1/2 tsp salt in another small bowl.
Step 4
Roll goat cheese into approximately 24 balls (about 1 tbs each.)
Step 5
Roll each goat cheese ball in flour mixture, dip in egg mixture, and dredge in panko mixture.Step 6
Heat oil to 350̊ F in a deep saucepan over medium high heat.
Step 7
Fry goat cheese for 1-2 minutes or until golden. Remove with a slotted spoon. Place on paper towel to dry.
Step 8
Arrange goat cheese balls on a platter, drizzle with Firebee Elderberry Honey, and sprinkle with chives and red pepper.
Step 9
Serve immediately and enjoy!
