Cinnamon Honey Pineapple Upside Down Donuts
Who says donuts are only for breakfast? These donuts are more of a dessert than a breakfast food with their sweet topping and rich, cake like bottom. You'll be eating an individual pineapple upside down cake, so don't let anyone limit you to when you can have them. Break free of the rules!
Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2/3 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. crushed pineapple
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 c. Firebee Cinnamon Honey
- 1/4 c. white sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 salt
- 6 Tbsp. milk
- 2 Tbsp. Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare 2 donut pans with spray.
Step 2
In a medium saucepan, combine 1/4 cup butter, brown sugar, and crushed pineapple. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted.
Step 3
Divide mixture evenly among 2 donut pans (12 donuts).
Step 4
In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt
Step 5
Add milk, yogurt, egg, melted butter, Firebee Cinnamon Honey, and vanilla and stir until blended.
Step 6
Spoon into donut pans, filling 2/3 full. (The donut batter will be sparse)
Step 7
Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until tops spring back when lightly touched.
Step 8
Cool 10 minutes in pan; loosen edges and invert onto cooling rack. **Place cooling rack directly on top of donut pan and quickly flip, then gently lift pan to release donuts.
